Ice Park 2010

The best thing at the ice park this year was the series of slides.

There were colored fluorescent lights build in to the walls. Pretty spectacular at night.

Here's John and Shiloh holding on for dear life

The Ice Cabin was cool too. It was furnished with an ice bed and an ice table which contained ice bananas and 2 ice goblets. Tyler and Isaac enjoyed the sculptures with us

Isn't this cool? It's amazing how intricate the sculptures can be

Vacation part 1: Western Caribbean cruise

Our first stop was in the Grand Caymans. It wasn't nearly as cold as home but we shivered in our shorts and wrapped up in beach towels to stay warm

We went to a turtle farm

Princess Cays was our only warm stop. Lincoln and Shiloh hung out in playland why John and I snorkeled. Then we all went on a peddle-boat.

Here are a couple shots showing our cabin:

We had a wonderful time on the cruise but the best part was still to come

Hanging In FL with the family

After the cruise we hung out with George, Zoe, and Sophie and spent some time with Cricket too. We had 1 beautiful sunny day and wisely went to the beach. I could live in FL in January...

This brown blob is a manatee! I understand they are gentle creatures but it's still a bit creepy to realize that something this big is hanging out right next to you in the river. I didn't get a picture but I saw 1 surface and breathe. Its face reminds me of the dragon in NeverEnding Story. Only a really lonely sailor would mistake this guy for a mermaid...

We also saw an alligator family. Can you find the 11 baby gators? Hint: 2 of the babies aren't with the rest.

Spending time with the family in Florida was the highlight of our vacation. Thanks Cricket! Thanks George! We appreciate your hospitality and we've already started working on Linda and Don about another cruise and visit!

The end of the 3 month hiatus

Nothing is wrong. Hope you weren't worried about us, I was just overwhelmed with work. Or maybe lazy... :)

Here are the best of the shots I've been taking for the last 3 months but not posting.

My green-eyed girl. I can't tell if she's grumpy or 'wounded' in this shot. I love the kids' expressions. They can say so much without making a sound (see last photo).
Here's a fun one from the library

John and the kids got me a hammock for Mother's Day. I'm glad I found one of Shiloh with this haircut, which I gave her. I thought it was 'punky' but everyone kept asking me if she cut it herself. John made me promise to take her to a professional next time :)

I bought Lincoln a pair of Converse so he could learn to tie his shoes before school starts next year. It's a work in progress. Right now it's just frustrating but I know he'll pick it up in no time. After all, this is the boy who taught himself to ride a bike with no training wheels in about 1 hour when he set his mind to it.

Random shots from the first 1/6th of 2009

Shiloh ran around in circles at Glow Putt while John, Lincoln and I played. (Lincoln didn't really play, he just kept rolling the golf balls through the little tube that makes them glow again :)
